Morgan Péline is an accomplished French Director of Photography and educator with an international career spanning over two decades. A graduate of the prestigious National Film and Television School (NFTS) in the UK, he also honed his craft at the Northern Film School and the renowned Budapest Cinematography Masterclass, where he trained under acclaimed cinematographers including Brian Tufano BSC (BAFTA winner for Billy Elliot), Billy Williams BSC (Oscar winner for Gandhi), and Vilmos Zsigmond ASC (Oscar winner for Close Encounters of the Third Kind).
Morgan's diverse portfolio includes feature films, documentaries, music videos, corporate productions, and web serials. He has worked across multiple continents—from the UK and USA to Hong Kong, China, Southeast Asia, and Australia—and is highly proficient with a wide range of equipment and formats, including Arri Alexa, Red cameras, 35mm and 16mm film, and various digital systems.
In addition to his work behind the camera, Morgan is a dedicated educator. He has taught cinematography and film production at leading institutions such as the Open University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and most recently served as Assistant Professor of Practice at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in China.
Morgan is currently based in France, and remains active in both European and Asian film circles.
